I like the formula, coverage, color. Wearable at all times for all occasions. Dress it up or down. Intensity is buildable. Lipstick lover’s chapstick

    Darker skin tones

Posted by Dorothy K. on 8th May 2018

I am South Indian with a fairly medium complexion for that demographic. On me, this shade did not look like the picture, which, of course, was not surprising... However, it really had ZERO of the coral/ orange warmth, so did not look natural at all. It is more of a pink with lavender undertones: a much cooler color than I expected. As a lipstick in general, it goes on smooth, feels weightless, and does not dry my lips. Since this seems to be the warmest lipstick shade available, though, I will not be buying any more Sterling lip colors. Which is very disappointing, because the foundation colors were THE BEST MATCH I HAVE FOUND IN 40 YEARS.

Thank you very much for the feedback Dorothy. With lip pigments and the natural pigment of your lips, the blending may not always be suitable to your liking. We apologize if the picture is not representing correctly for you, which is why we try to describe the shade in great detail. Although we don't suggest lavender in the shade, we do describe it as a Rosewood shade with pinkish brown undertone resembling a natural berry shade blush to the lips. Plus we are in the process of discontinuing certain shades along with creating new product photography which we hope will be more representative of our shades. Perhaps since you enjoyed the look and feel of our lip colors you will check back after we have revamped them and put our new shades in place in the future. Thanks again!

    nice coverage

This lipstick color is a nice neutral, yet deeper, tone for my light, neutral-to-olive skin. It does go on differently than traditional lipsticks, but the color holds well.

    Nice match for me

My old lipstick shade from another natural brand that I loved was discontinued so I was hard pressed to find something similar. Luscious hit the mark and I am EXTREMELY picky. It is about as close to a Raisin shade as I found while still staying clear of all the garbage ingredients out there. I think this shade is actually an improvement and it wears well. I will definitely buy again. Just please don't discontinue it. Thank you

Just right yet different than what I am used to

Posted by E. Collins on 26th Aug 2014

I love this shade of lipstick and it looks and feels good on. The color is quite nice and doesn't overpower my face. At first I wasn't sure about using a natural lipstick because it didn't put much color on at first. But then I figured out after a couple of uses the color is more intense so I learned that this type of lipstick has a bit of a breakin period. Now I prefer natural to the ones that use dyes and all the other chemicals. I will purchase again!

Perfect Color For This Older Gal

Posted by Delores - Vermont on 6th Feb 2014

I am in my sixties and this color is absolutely perfect and it gives my lips such beautiful color. I also like that I can adjust the pigment through how I apply it. I especially like that it is not matte. Not a good look for me at my age. If you don't like a lot of shine then the lipstick version is the best choice.
